How to Get to Georgian Bay Islands National Park

Since the Georgian Bay Islands are only accessible by boat, we recommend using the DayTripper services to get there. The DayTripper cruise will take you on a scenic 15-minute ride before arriving at beautiful Beausoleil Island. Make your reservations by calling 1877-737-3783. And read on to discover all the activities available on the island.

Things to Do at Beausoleil Island

Beausoleil Island offers fantastic hiking opportunities on the North and South end of the island. The Northern trails showcase the diverse beauty of the Canadian Shield with bedrock and wetland environments. The South trails feature mixed forests with more demanding trails. During your hikes, keep your eye out for local wildlife; there are more reptiles and amphibians here than in any other National Park in Canada! Discover the complete list of hiking trails on Beausoleil Island here.

Bicycling the Southern end of Beausoleil Island is one of the most popular ways to explore the area. The Huron, Christian, and Georgian trails are open for bicyclists, ranging from easy to challenging, depending on your skill level. Rent your bike from the Cedar Spring Visitor Centre and set off on the trails!

Several additional activities are available at Georgian Islands Bay National Park that you can take advantage of during your exploration. After a hike, cool down with a swim and set up a picnic under one of the picnic shelters in the park. And if you have your fishing license, you can fish the surrounding waters for small perch and record-size muskies. Finally, make sure to bring your camera along to snap some memorable photos from your day trip to Beausoleil Island.
