Summer Has Officially Docked at Rawley Resort

There’s a very specific moment when summer arrives in Port Severn.

It’s not marked on a calendar. It happens when patios begin to fill again, boats return to the marina, cocktails are poured a little slower, and the days naturally stretch longer by the water.

At Rawley Resort, summer isn’t about rushing through a checklist. It’s about settling into the season properly with lakeside lunches, afternoon swims, evening music, and spontaneous detours that somehow become the highlight of the trip.

As we officially welcome summer back to Georgian Bay, we’re excited to share what’s newly open, what’s happening around the resort, and a few experiences worth making part of your next getaway.

The Return of Summer at Rawley

The Pool Is Open

There’s no better way to ease into summer mode than a quiet afternoon by the pool.

Now officially open for the season, Rawley’s outdoor pool is one of those places guests naturally gravitate toward during warmer weekends. Between spa appointments, marina afternoons, or sunset dinners, it becomes the perfect reset point for the day. Think:

  • Poolside lounging with a book

  • Post-spa relaxation

  • Slow afternoons overlooking the water

It’s relaxed, unhurried, and exactly how summer weekends should feel.

Summer Dining Returns at The Grill

With warmer weather officially here, The Grill is back for another summer season on the waterfront.

Open daily, The Grill brings a relaxed, dockside dining experience that's uniquely Rawley. Located right at the water's edge, it's one of the few places in the area where you can arrive by boat, step off the dock, and enjoy a meal. Whether you're spending the day on the water, returning from a local adventure, or simply soaking in the summer sunshine, The Grill offers a front-row seat to life on the marina. This season's experience is all about:

  • Waterfront dining

  • Boat-up access for day-trippers and marina guests

  • Easy summer cocktails on the patio

  • Casual lunches in the sunshine

  • Relaxed dinners with sunset views over the harbour

From passing boaters to weekend vacationers, The Grill has become a favourite gathering spot for those looking to enjoy great food, refreshing drinks, and one of the best waterfront views in Port Severn.

It’s the kind of spot where one quick lunch easily turns into staying for the entire afternoon.

The Ice Breaker Is Back for Patio Season

Summer weekends officially begin at The Ice Breaker.

Open weekends through June, then daily in July and August, this seasonal waterfront hangout brings together everything people love about summer in Muskoka: ice cream, marina views, sunshine, music, and easy conversation.

Whether you’re stopping by before dinner or settling in for the evening, The Ice Breaker has quickly become one of Rawley’s favourite summer traditions.

Beyond the Resort: Summer Experiences Worth Exploring

One of the best things about staying at Rawley is that you’re positioned right at the gateway to Muskoka and Georgian Bay, close enough to explore, but tucked away enough to unwind fully.

Here are a few experiences guests love once summer arrives:

Spend a Day on the Water

Summer in Port Severn revolves around the marina.

Guests can explore nearby waterways by boat, enjoy local watersport rentals, or simply spend the afternoon watching boats move through the historic Trent-Severn Waterway with a drink in hand.

For boating enthusiasts, Rawley’s Marina is an ideal overnight stop before continuing deeper into Georgian Bay.

Explore Nearby Towns & Hidden Gems

Some of the best summer moments happen off the itinerary. Take a scenic drive through nearby communities like Honey Harbour, Coldwater, Midland, and Penetanguishene, where you’ll find:

  • Waterfront cafés

  • Small-town shops

  • Local artisan markets

  • Historic landmarks

  • Quiet beaches and picnic spots

The pace here feels refreshingly slower, especially compared to the city.

Make It a Golf Weekend

Looking for a summer golf escape?

Oak Bay Golf Club is just a 7-minute drive away and offers one of the region’s most scenic courses. Many guests pair a morning round of golf with an afternoon spa treatment or an evening dinner reservation back at Lighthouse45.

Stay for the Evenings

Summer nights at Rawley deserve their own mention.

Live music returns every Friday and Saturday evening, creating the perfect backdrop for waterfront dining, cocktails, and long summer conversations outdoors. Between the marina views, sunset skies, and relaxed atmosphere, evenings here tend to become memorable. Looking to extend the experience? Enjoy one of Rawley’s outdoor firepits overlooking the water. Simply let the Front Desk know, even on short notice, and the team will be happy to have it lit and ready for you. For an extra touch of summer nostalgia, order a s’mores kit complete with skewers and enjoy a fireside treat under the stars.

Your Summer Escape Starts Here

Summer weekends have a way of filling quickly around Georgian Bay, and for good reason.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a spa weekend, a boating stopover, or simply a few days away from the city, Rawley Resort offers the kind of summer escape that feels effortless from the moment you arrive.

The pool is open. The patios are ready. Summer has officially arrived.

We’ll see you by the water.
